Semen Policies: Imported and Domestic

In our mission of Protecting the integrity of the breed and registry The atsa has been fine tuning the domestic and imported semen requirements. This will also protect breederrs and buyers. We now require DNA verification. The ATSA selected to go through Neogen to hold our DNA data library. This can be utilized by all ATSA breeders, but is not required for all breedings / registrations. It is currently being required for AI semen imported into the USA and Canada & domestic semen sales, Purebred applications and Embryo Transfer Registrations. This will provide a clear and reliable parentage verfication. As we move forward in this we will welcome feedback from breeders. If you have questions please contact a board director.
