application for ATSA Purebred StaTus

The ATSA is excited you are here to inquire on how we are building a Purebred Teeswater Flock in North America!

The ATSA Board institued the following policy based on the the Bylaws (ARTICLE XI - RULES OF REGISTRY AND UPGRADING GUIDELINES, Section 4)

  • ATSA Registered animals with five straight generations of AI with semen from 100% registered Teeswaters may be submitted for consideration for this status.

                                                   OR

  • Outstanding animals that have achieved an ATSA Registered percentage of 96% or above may be submitted for consideration for this status. Animals must be of excellent Teeswater type and will be evaluated according to our Standard of Excellence and Perfection (included with this application for reference).

Photos requirements can be found on the application.  Videos are welcomed.   (sample photo submission below)

Please be sure animals are at least 1 year of age or older for evaluation purposes. If you submit an animal and it is not considered mature enough to be evaluated, or your status is denied, your application fee will be returned.

Once the ATSA recives your application a committee will review the application, pedigree and photos.  The board will use the scorecard below to score your animal against the breed standard (found below).  Animals meeting committee approval will be passed and you will be notified it is time to submit a DNA sample to Neogen.  That process is outlined below.  Once you pay DNA costs the registrar will be notified to update the Teeswater percentage to 100% in the database as a purebred.  This will update all prior progeny Teeswater percentages.
