application for ATSA Purebred StaTus

The ATSA Board institued the following policy based on the the Bylaws (ARTICLE XI - RULES OF REGISTRY AND UPGRADING GUIDELINES, Section 4)

  • Animals that have ‘green tags’ inserted, UK registration numbers and are included in the flock book of the Teeswater Sheep Breeders Association of the UK may be submitted for consideration for this status.
  • ATSA Registered animals with five straight generations of AI with semen from 100% registered Teeswaters may be submitted for consideration for this status.
  • Outstanding animals that have achieved an ATSA Registered percentage of 96% or above may be submitted for consideration for this status. Animals must be of excellent Teeswater type and will be evaluated according to our Standard of Excellence and Perfection (included with this application for reference).

Photos must be submitted with this application, videos are welcomed. Once an animal is granted Purebred status by the ATSA, the percentages will be retroactively adjusted for previously registered offspring. Upon approval you may be asked to submit a DNA profile for our records.

Animals must be at least 1 year of age or older to be able to evaluate. If you submit an animal and it is not considered mature enough to be evaluated, or your status is denied, your application fee will be returned.
